हिमाचल प्रदेश कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष प्रतिभा सिंह ने केंद्र की एनडीए सरकार पर निशाना साधते हुए कहा कि अमेरिका द्वारा अवैध भारतीय प्रवासियों को बेड़ियों में बांधकर भेजना भारत का अपमान है। बुधवार को एक अमेरिकी सैन्य C-17 ट्रांसपोर्ट विमान में 104 भारतीयों को निर्वासित कर अमृतसर के श्री गुरु रामदास जी इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट पर उतारा गया।
यह पहली बार है जब अमेरिका ने अवैध भारतीय प्रवासियों के खिलाफ इतने बड़े स्तर पर कार्रवाई करते हुए उन्हें समूह में निर्वासित किया है। अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप की नीतियों के तहत अवैध प्रवासियों के खिलाफ बड़ी मुहिम चलाई जा रही है, जिसके तहत यह कार्रवाई हुई।

Himachal Pradesh Congress chief Pratibha Singh slammed the NDA government, stating that the deportation of Indian immigrants in shackles by the US was an insult to India. On Wednesday, a US military C-17 transport aircraft carried 104 deported Indians and landed at Shri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport in Amritsar.
This marks the first large-scale deportation of Indian immigrants as part of US President Donald Trump’s aggressive crackdown on illegal immigration.

कई निर्वासितों ने बताया कि उन्हें पूरे सफर के दौरान हथकड़ियों और पैरों में बेड़ियों में जकड़कर रखा गया। अमृतसर पहुंचने के बाद ही उन्हें मुक्त किया गया।

एक महिला निर्वासित ने अपना दर्द साझा करते हुए कहा, “हमें अपराधियों की तरह बांधकर लाया गया। विमान में न तो हमें हिलने दिया गया, न किसी से बात करने की अनुमति मिली। कमर और पैरों में बंधी जंजीरें इतनी कसी हुई थीं कि बाथरूम जाने तक की इजाजत नहीं दी गई।”
इस समूह में 72 पुरुष, 19 महिलाएं और 13 बच्चे शामिल थे। निर्वासितों ने कठोर हिरासत प्रक्रियाओं, ठंडे डिटेंशन केंद्रों और उड़ान के दौरान सख्त निगरानी में रहने के अनुभव साझा किए।

“Handcuffed, Shackled”: Deportees Describe Harrowing Experience
Many deportees revealed that they were handcuffed and shackled throughout the journey, only to be freed upon landing in Amritsar.
A female deportee shared her ordeal, stating, “We were treated like criminals. Shackled and chained, we were neither allowed to move nor talk to fellow deportees. The chains around our waists and feet were so tight that even requests for restroom access were denied.”
The deportees included 72 men, 19 women, and 13 children. They described their experience of rigid detention procedures, freezing cold holding facilities, and a final flight under strict surveillance.

हिमाचल कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष प्रतिभा सिंह ने कहा कि भारत सरकार को अमेरिका से इस मुद्दे पर कड़ा रुख अपनाना चाहिए था। उन्होंने कोलंबिया और ब्राजील का उदाहरण देते हुए कहा कि इन देशों ने अपने प्रवासियों को सम्मानजनक तरीके से वापस लाने के लिए खुद अपने विमान भेजे।

Political Uproar and India’s Stand on the Deportation
Several opposition leaders criticized the Indian government, questioning its silence over the inhumane treatment of Indian deportees. Protests were staged outside the Parliament in Delhi over the issue.
Himachal Congress chief Pratibha Singh stated that India should have taken a firm stance against the mistreatment of its citizens. She cited the examples of Colombia and Brazil, both of which sent their own aircraft to repatriate their citizens with dignity.

विदेश मंत्री एस. जयशंकर ने राज्यसभा में बयान देते हुए कहा कि अमेरिकी इमिग्रेशन विभाग द्वारा 2012 से ही इस प्रकार के सुरक्षा उपाय अपनाए जा रहे हैं। हालांकि, भारत सरकार इस बात को लेकर अमेरिका से लगातार बातचीत कर रही है कि भारतीय नागरिकों के साथ उड़ान में किसी भी प्रकार का दुर्व्यवहार न हो।
उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि अवैध प्रवासियों को वापस भेजना अंतरराष्ट्रीय मानकों का हिस्सा है, और हर देश की जिम्मेदारी होती है कि वह अपने अवैध प्रवासियों को स्वीकार करे।

India’s Official Stand on the Issue
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar addressed the Rajya Sabha, stating that the use of restraints has been part of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) standard operating procedures since 2012. However, he assured that India is actively engaging with the US government to prevent any mistreatment of deported individuals during transit.
He further stated that deportation of illegal immigrants is a standard international practice, and every country is obligated to take back its citizens who are residing abroad unlawfully.
