Pre-Budget Economic Survey: Key Insights to be Unveiled in Parliament Today
आज संसद में वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण आर्थिक सर्वेक्षण प्रस्तुत करेंगी, जो बीते वित्त वर्ष के दौरान देश की अर्थव्यवस्था की स्थिति को दर्शाने वाला एक अहम दस्तावेज है। यह सर्वेक्षण दोपहर 12 बजे लोकसभा में और दोपहर 2 बजे राज्यसभा में पेश किया जाएगा। इस रिपोर्ट का महत्व इसलिए भी बढ़ जाता है क्योंकि यह आगामी केंद्रीय बजट 2025-26 से ठीक एक दिन पहले पेश किया जा रहा है।

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Economic Survey in Parliament today, a crucial document that outlines the state of the Indian economy over the past fiscal year. The survey will be tabled at 12 PM in the Lok Sabha and at 2 PM in the Rajya Sabha. Its significance is heightened as it comes just a day before the much-anticipated Union Budget 2025-26.

यह सर्वेक्षण मुख्य आर्थिक सलाहकार (Chief Economic Advisor) के मार्गदर्शन में तैयार किया जाता है और इसमें वित्त मंत्रालय के आर्थिक मामलों के विभाग द्वारा तैयार की गई आर्थिक समीक्षा शामिल होती है। इस दस्तावेज़ का उद्देश्य न केवल मौजूदा आर्थिक हालात का विश्लेषण करना होता है, बल्कि आगामी वित्तीय वर्ष के लिए संभावित दृष्टिकोण भी प्रस्तुत करना होता है। यह केंद्रीय बजट की संभावित नीतियों की दिशा और प्राथमिकताओं का संकेत भी देता है।
The Economic Survey is prepared under the supervision of the Chief Economic Advisor and includes insights from the economic division of the Department of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance. The document not only assesses the current economic conditions but also provides an outlook for the upcoming fiscal year. Additionally, it acts as an indicator of the tone and direction of the Union Budget.
संसद के बजट सत्र की शुरुआत भी इसी सर्वेक्षण की प्रस्तुति के साथ होती है। यह सत्र 4 अप्रैल तक चलेगा, जिसमें 14 फरवरी से 10 मार्च तक अंतराल (inter-session break) रहेगा। हर साल आर्थिक सर्वेक्षण एक थीम के तहत प्रस्तुत किया जाता है, जो सरकार की नीतियों को दर्शाता है। पिछले साल 2024 में इसका थीम ‘आर्थिक लचीलापन’ (Economic Resilience) था।
The Economic Survey also marks the beginning of the Budget Session of Parliament, which will conclude on April 4. There will be an inter-session break from February 14 to March 10. Each year, the survey follows a specific theme that reflects the government’s economic vision. In 2024, the theme was “Economic Resilience.”
पहली बार आर्थिक सर्वेक्षण 1950-51 में पेश किया गया था, जब यह केंद्रीय बजट का ही हिस्सा हुआ करता था। 1960 के दशक में इसे अलग कर दिया गया और इसे केंद्रीय बजट से एक दिन पहले पेश करने की परंपरा शुरू हुई। बजट पेश करने से पहले परंपरागत रूप से प्रधानमंत्री की अध्यक्षता में कैबिनेट की बैठक होती है, जिसमें मंत्रियों को बजट के बारे में जानकारी दी जाती है और कैबिनेट की मंजूरी ली जाती है।
The first Economic Survey was presented in 1950-51 as part of the Budget documents. In the 1960s, it was separated and has since been presented a day before the Union Budget. Traditionally, before the budget is presented, a Cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister is held to brief ministers and obtain approval.
